Yīzōng jīnjiàn · Dìngzhèng Zhòngjǐng quánshū 醫宗金鑑·訂正仲景全書

Corrected Complete Works of Zhāng Zhòng-jǐng by 吳謙 (奉敕撰) and 劉裕鐸 (奉敕撰), under imperial commission

About the work

The Dìngzhèng Zhòngjǐng quánshū 訂正仲景全書 of the Yīzōng jīnjiàn is the combined corrected-commentary on Zhāng Zhòngjǐng’s two foundational works — the Shānghán lùn (17 juàn; cf. KR3eu017 / KR3eu028) and the Jīnguì yàoluè (8 juàn; cf. KR3eu029) — published in the present recension as a 25-juàn unit at the head of the Yīzōng jīnjiàn. The pairing follows the late-Míng / Qīng revisionist cuòjiǎn chóngdìng school’s convention of treating Zhāng’s two surviving works as a single editorial unit (the Zhòngjǐng quánshū 仲景全書), inheriting 趙開美 Zhào Kāiměi’s 1599 print of Zhào’s Shānghán lùn zhù jiě + Jīnguì yàolüè fānglùn (the Zhòngjǐng quánshū of the late Míng).

Abstract

For the Shānghán lùn commentary (17 juàn) see KR3eu017; for the Jīnguì commentary (8 juàn) see KR3eu029. The combined work is the imperial-Qīng standard for both of Zhāng Zhòngjǐng’s foundational compositions and the principal channel through which the Chángshā fùgǔ 長沙復古 (Back-to-Zhāng-of-Cháng-shā) revisionist programme — initiated by 方有執 Fāng Yǒuzhí (1592–1593) and developed by 喻昌 Yú Chāng (1648), 張璐 Zhāng Lù (Shānghán zǒnglùn), and 尤怡 Yóu Yí (1729) — became codified as the Qīng official orthodoxy.

Composition window 1742–1749. For the parent compendium see KR3e0090 / KR3eu016.
