Chén Zhìxū’s three-juàn chapter-divided commentary on the Cān tóng qì. Chén was one of the central Yuán synthesizers of Southern-Lineage (Zhāng Bóduān) and Northern-Lineage (Quán zhēn) nèi dān.

The Sìkù editors write: “The Zhōu yì cān tóng qì fēn zhāng zhù, three juàn, by Chén Zhìxū 陳致虛 of the Yuán. Zhìxū’s zì was Guān wú 觀吾, and his self-styled hào was Shàng yáng zǐ 上陽子. At the age of forty he began to study under Zhào Yǒuqīn 趙友欽…”
Abstract
Chén’s commentary reads the Cān tóng qì within his Yuán inner-alchemical synthesis, emphasizing the scripture’s congruence with the Southern-Lineage Wù zhēn piān and the Northern-Lineage Quán zhēn teachings. Composed during Chén’s active period in the 1320s-30s.
Dating. Within Chén Zhìxū’s active life (c. 1330–1343). Dynasty: 元.
