About the work
A three-fascicle alternative recension of Asaṅga’s Vajracchedikā-vyākhyā, the doublet companion of T1510a. The Taishō head-note records the alternative title 「亦名金剛能斷般若」 (“also named the Vajra-Able-to-Cut Prajñā”). The opening praṇāma-verse is identical to T1510a, indicating the same translation in different textual transmission. Signature: 「無著菩薩造／隋南天竺三藏法師達摩岌多譯」 (with the alternative transliteration 達摩岌多 for the translator’s name).

Abstract
T1510b is a parallel-recension transmission of Dharmagupta’s translation of Asaṅga’s Vajracchedikā-vyākhyā. The two recensions T1510a and T1510b reflect different states of the same Indic source and the same Chinese translation; the three-fascicle T1510b is somewhat more expanded.
