Abstract
The Shìyì completes the four-text Zhǐzhǎng shū complex by providing the topical-encyclopedic glossary of names, terms, and concepts referenced in the main commentary. Together, the four-text complex (KR6d0095 kēwén / KR6d0096 xuánshì / KR6d0097 Zhǐzhǎng shū / KR6d0098 Shìyì) provides the most fully-apparatus-equipped mid-Qīng Lotus Sūtra commentarial production, complete with sectional analysis, introductory exposition, main commentary, and topical glossary.
The dating is bracketed with the rest of the four-text complex within Tōnglǐ’s mature productive period c. 1750–1782.
