About the work
A single-juan alternative sectional analysis (kē 科) of Zhànrán’s Jīngāngbēi (KR6d0175, T1932) by Gūshān Zhìyuán 孤山智圓 (976–1022) — one of the principal shānwài spokespersons alongside Rényuè (仁岳). The work is parallel to Rényuè’s Kē (KR6d0177); together they constitute the principal shānwài tradition’s navigational apparatus on the Jīngāngbēi.
Abstract
Zhìyuán’s Kē and Xiǎnxìng lù (KR6d0179) together constitute the principal shānwài commentarial apparatus on the Jīngāngbēi, providing the shānwài alternative interpretation of Zhànrán’s doctrine of the buddha-nature of insentient beings. The composition is bracketed within Zhìyuán’s productive period c. 996–1022.
