This 9-fascicle text by 菩提流支 Bodhiruci is the Indian śāstra (treatise) on the Maitreya-paripṛcchā tradition (parent sūtra: [[KR6f0041|Mílè pútísà suǒwèn běnyuàn jīng T0349]] by 竺法護 Zhú Fǎhù). The Indic authorship is attributed to 安慧 Sthiramati or another Yogācāra-school ācārya; Bodhiruci’s translation provides the principal Chinese textual basis for the Maitreya-paripṛcchā commentarial tradition.

Abstract
The translation belongs to 菩提流支 Bodhiruci’s Northern-Wèi activity (508 – 537 CE). The 9-fascicle scope makes the work one of the most substantial Northern-Wèi śāstra translations.
