Wéimó jīng shū 維摩經疏
Commentary on the Vimalakīrti Sūtra (anonymous Dunhuang manuscript commentary)
About the work
The Wéimó jīng shū (T2774) is a third anonymous Vimalakīrti commentary from the Dunhuang corpus. It is distinct from KR6i0089 (T2770) and KR6i0090 (T2771) in manuscript provenance and exegetical detail, although all three share the shū genre and broadly similar doctrinal apparatus. The Taishō header cross-references No. 475.
Prefaces
The text opens directly with the commentary; no preface or colophon survives.
Abstract
T2774 is part of the Dunhuang Vimalakīrti commentary cluster (T2768–T2778), each text representing an independent commentarial tradition preserved only in fragmentary form on the Hexi corridor. The commentary’s exegetical style is more terse than T2770/T2771 and includes more direct gloss-format entries, suggesting use as a teaching aid.
