A one-fascicle anonymous (失譯) sūtra on the Great-Wheel Vajra 大輪金剛 (Mahā-cakra Vajra), the chief deity of a small Esoteric cycle (T1230–T1232 = KR6j0458, KR6j0459, KR6j0460). The canwww entry (T21N1230) records 失譯 with no compositional date, and there is no Korean Tripiṭaka parallel — placing it in the broad layer of un-attributed Esoteric Chinese ritual manuals that accumulated in the Tang.
Abstract
The text gives the deity’s zǒngchí 總持 (Skt. dhāraṇī, “all-encompassing retention”) — the mantra-rāja held to gather and hold all dharma-meanings — together with the rite for its recitation. Mahā-cakra-Vajra is iconographically a many-armed wrathful Vajra-deity revolving the Great Dharma-Wheel; his rite is held to remove obstacles, purify karmic residues, and accomplish the practitioner’s vows. The text is paired with the more elaborate practitioner’s manual KR6j0459 (T1231, Dàlún jīngāng xiūxíng xīdì chéngjiù jí gòngyǎng fǎ) and the shorter recitation-manual KR6j0460 (T1232).
The dating bracket is conservative (Sui–Late Tang).
