Three-juan Jīn-sù-specific yǔlù of Shuǐjiàn Huìhǎi 慧海 水鑑慧海 (1626–1687, cf. 慧海 second entry and KR6q0440), covering his Hǎiyán Jīnsùshān Guǎnghuì Chánsì 金粟山廣慧禪寺 abbacy (entered 丙辰 1676 on Zhèjiāng fāntái Lǐ Shìzhēn 李士楨 patronage). This is the sixth abbacy that was added to the KR6q0440 six-assembly integrated yǔlù in 1690; the present volume KR6q0442 is the standalone Jīn-sù-block, with additional biographical appendix (行狀 行狀 + 傳) preserved in juan 2. Compiled by dharma-heirs Fǎlán Yuánchéng 原澂 and Yuánshàng 原上 原上. Printed as Jiāxīng Canon J29 B232.

Abstract

Context. This volume is the Jīnsù abbacy standalone record for Huìhǎi, preserving the shàngtáng corpus from his 1676+ residence at the Mìyún ancestral seat Hǎiyán Jīnsù Guǎnghuìsì. Together with KR6q0440 (10-juan integrated 1690 edition covering all six abbacies) and KR6q0441 (6-juan 1672 five-abbacy edition), KR6q0442 completes the three-volume Huìhǎi corpus preserved in Jiāxīng Canon J29 (B230–B232). The sequential numbering of the three volumes reflects the editorial architecture: B230 = full integrated; B231 = 1672 partial; B232 = Jīn-sù-standalone supplement.

Significance of the Jīnsù abbacy. Huìhǎi’s 1676 entry at Jīnsùshān Guǎnghuìsì is historically significant as a Kāng-xī-era Mìyún Yuánwù ancestral-seat recovery. Jīnsù had been the primary abbacy of Mìyún Yuánwù in the 1630s, subsequently held by Fèiyǐn Tōngróng (cf. KR6q0403) in the 1640s, and by Bǎichī Yuán (cf. KR6q0421) 1648–1653. Huìhǎi’s 1676 tenure continues the Mìyún-ancestral-seat tradition, with the Qīng Zhèjiāng fāntái Lǐ Shìzhēn 李士楨 directly sponsoring the abbacy-entry through a formal chuánxí 傳檄 administrative directive.

Compositional history. The standalone Jīnsù cutting is likely contemporaneous with or slightly pre-dates the 1690 integrated KR6q0440 edition. notBefore = 1676 (Jīnsù entry); notAfter = 1690 (with Huìhǎi’s 1687 death as a firmer earlier limit for the cutting).
