About the work
Ten-juan yǔlù of Shēnfēng Xiàn 憲 屾峰憲, Cáo-dòng-school dharma-heir of Sānyí Míngyú 三宜明盂 (1599–1665). Compiled by fǎsì Zhìzhí 智質 + Zhìyuán 智原 tóng biān 同編. Printed as Jiāxīng Canon J34 B298 (note: in J34 cluster, distinct from the earlier Sānyí Cáodòng publications KR6q0459, KR6q0471 in J32–J33). Five-abbacy structure across juan 1–5: Zuìlǐ Gǔ Zīshèngsì 檇李古資聖寺, Qiánxī Gǔ Qíchāngsì 前溪古齊昌寺, Dōngshān Mìaojuéyuàn 東山妙覺院, Guānyīnyuàn 觀音院, Yúnmén Xiǎnshèngsì 雲門顯聖寺.
Abstract
Authorship. Per DILA A001774 and the 憲 note: dharma-heir of Sānyí Míngyú at Yúnménsì, the same teacher as 淨挺 (at KR6q0471) and 淨啟 (at KR6q0459). The juan-9 yúān lǎohéshàng xiàng 愚菴老和尚像 verse names Sānyí (also styled Yúān 愚菴) as wú shī 吾師. Lifedates and native place not preserved.
Dating. notBefore = c. 1660 (conservative bound for an active yǔlù-producing Cáodòng heir of Sānyí, who died 1665). notAfter = c. 1685 as a conservative bound for the post-master compilation by Zhìzhí + Zhìyuán.
Lineage. Cáo-dòng-school via Sānyí Míngyú line. Stands alongside 淨挺 (also Sānyí heir, eighteen-juan yǔlù + multiple scholarly works) and 淨啟 (Sānyí heir, zhòngbiān of the Hóngzhì yǔlù) as the third extant Sān-yí-line yǔlù preserved in the Jiāxīng Canon. Together these three volumes form a coherent late-1660s / 1670s Cáodòng publishing program.

Shēnfēng Xiàn’s five-seat sequence (Zuìlǐ → Qiánxī → Dōngshān → Guānyīnyuàn → Yúnmén) traces a coherent Hángzhōu / Jiāxīng / Sūzhōu Cáodòng circuit, ending at Sānyí Míngyú’s home seat at Yúnmén Xiǎnshèngsì — a deliberate succession-claim by the dharma-heir to the master’s flagship abbacy.
