Other points of interest

The eighty-three named fǎsì in juan 5 is one of the largest disciple-cohorts attested in any single Jiā-xīng-canon LínjìYángqí yǔlù, indicating Zhúfēng’s institutional weight at Zhāojuésì 昭覺寺 — the principal mother-temple of Sìchuān LínjìYángqí Buddhism, whence the 18th-century revival of southwestern Buddhism radiated. The succession of Zhāojué abbacies from Pòshān Hǎimíng 海明 (1597–1666) through his second-generation heirs (徹生 KR6q0544) and third-generation heir Zhúfēng (b. 1660, this text) marks the institutional continuity of the Sìchuān line into the 18th century.
