Recorded Sayings of Chán Master Xuě-jiāo Xìn by 弘歇 (等編)
Ten-juan yǔlù of Xuějiāo Yuánxìn 圓信 雪嶠圓信 (1571 – 1647-09-24, age 77). One of the three principal fǎsì of Lóngchí Huànyǒu Zhèngchuán 正傳 (cf. KR6q0601) — alongside 圓悟 Mìyún Yuánwù and 圓修 Tiānyǐn Yuánxiū. Biéhào Yǔfēng lǎorén 語風老人, Qīngshīwēng 青獅翁 (“Old Man of the Blue Lion”), Xuěshīzǐ 雪獅子 (“Snow Lion”), lay name Zhū 朱 (i.e. Zhū Xuětíng 朱雪庭). Native of Yínxiàn 鄞縣 (Níngbō, Zhèjiāng). Compiled by fǎsì Hóngxiē 弘歇 (with Hóngzhū 弘珠) děng biān.
The yǔlù documents Yuánxìn’s three principal abbacies and his late-life teaching. notBefore ≈ 1610 (post-mature-master period under Huànyǒu); notAfter = 1647 (death). Catalog source-edition is the Qiánlóng Edition of the canon Vol. 153 No. 1638.
Contents. Juan 1: preface (by Yú Yī 魚一); zhòng hùfǎ qǐng kāitáng shū 眾護法請開堂疏; mùlù; Dōngtǎ chánsì yǔlù 住東塔禪寺語錄; Yuèzhōu Yúnménsì yǔlù 越州雲門寺語錄. Juan 2: Kāixiān chánsì yǔlù; pǔshuō. Juan 3: xiǎocān; wǎncān; cháhuà; shìzhòng; kāishì. Juan 4: fǎyǔ (示錢相國塞菴居士, 示錢元冲居士, etc.). Juan 5–10: continuing materials, jìzàn, fóshì, xíngshí. The frequent yīnshì 音釋 (phonetic glosses) at chapter ends indicates careful textual treatment for canonical inclusion.

Other points of interest
Xuějiāo Yuánxìn is one of the most distinctive LínjìYángqí Chán figures of the late Míng — known for his unconventional, eccentric self-presentation (the Xuěshīzǐ “Snow Lion” persona), his Qīngshīwēng “Blue Lion Old Man” sobriquet, and his prominent role as teacher of Tuìān Duànyú Zhì Tuìān Duànyú Zhì (cf. KR6q0455). His Yúnménsì abbacy at Shàoxìng (越州) places him at one of the most prestigious Chán mountain-temples; his Kāixiānsì 開先 abbacy at Lúshān adds Jiāngxī to his circulation. Together with KR6q0601 (his teacher Huànyǒu) and KR6q0603 / KR6q0604 (his co-disciples Tiānyǐn / Mìyún), KR6q0602 forms the core textual evidence for the late-Míng LínjìYángqí lineage-restoration.
