Late-Yuán paleographer, calligrapher, and senior official, Bówēn 伯温, hào Yùxuěpō zhēnyì 玉雪坡真逸, of Ráozhōu 饒州 (modern Poyang, Jiangxi). Held senior offices including Bīngbù shìláng, Tàicháng lǐyíyuàn shì, Hànlín shìjiǎng xuéshì, Zhèngshū shèngjīn. Two paleographic monuments survive in the Sìkù: the Shuōwén zìyuán KR1j0040 in 1 juàn — a re-organization of the 540 Shuōwén radicals; and the Liùshū zhèngé KR1j0041 in 5 juàn — a Lǐbù yùnlüè-arranged orthographic dictionary. The Sìkù compilers position him between Zhāng Yǒu’s 張有 more precise Fùgǔ biān and Yáng Huán’s 楊桓 more idiosyncratic Liùshū tǒng. The Míng Qīxiū lèigǎo claims he was executed by Míng Tàizǔ for Zhāng Shì-chéng-faction sympathies; the official Yuánshǐ (compiled under Tàizǔ) gives him a peaceful death of illness in Póyáng — the Sìkù compilers accept the latter. CBDB lifedates 1298–1369, in agreement with the catalog meta and the Yuánshǐ.
