Zhōu Qīngyuán 周清原, early-Qīng official; Gōngbù shìláng 工部侍郎 (Vice-Minister of Works) under the Kāngxī emperor. He was the first principal compiler designated by Kāngxī to undertake the imperial Lìdài jìshì niánbiǎo 歷代紀事年表 (KR2d0019) project, working from the bùyī draft of Gōng Shìjiǒng 龔士炯. He died with the work unfinished; the project was thereafter transferred to Nèigé xuéshì Wáng Zhīshū 王之樞 (see 王之樞), who set up the compilation bureau at Zhōu’s family residence and brought Zhōu’s son Zhōu Jiāzhēn 周嘉楨 in as xiéxiū (associate compiler).
