Yuánxìn 圓信
Late-Míng / early-Qīng Chán monk of Jìngshān 徑山, styled Yǔfēng Yuánxìn 語風圓信 and Jìngshān Yǔfēng lǎorén 徑山語風老人. With the layman 郭凝之 Guō Níngzhī (the self-styled 無地地主人) he formed the most productive Chán editorial pair of the MíngQīng transition. Joint editorial work includes (in approximate order): the late-Míng Ruìzhōu Dòngshān Liángjiè chánshī yǔlù 瑞州洞山良价禪師語錄 (KR6q0067, ca. 1630s–40s), the Xiānjué zōngshèng 先覺宗乘 (KR6q0050, 1640–1670), and the Yōupóyí zhì 優婆夷志 (KR6q0051, 1640–1670). Yuánxìn’s role in the joint projects was variously jiàodìng 較定 (editorial correction) and biānjí 編集 (compilation / editing). Exact lifedates and lineage affiliation not transmitted. Not to be confused with other Chán figures of the same Dharma name.
