Zhìzàng 智藏
Liáng-dynasty Buddhist scholar-monk (458–522), one of the three great Liáng Lotus exegetes alongside 法雲 Fǎyún (467–529) and 僧旻 Sēngmín (467–527). The triad’s southern Lotus exegesis represented the principal pre-Tiāntái Sinitic engagement with the Lotus Sūtra and provided much of the doctrinal apparatus that 智顗 Zhìyǐ later systematised in his Tiāntái productions.
