Zhū Yízūn 朱彝尊 (1629–1709), zì Xīchàng 錫鬯, hào Zhúchá 竹垞, of Xiùshuǐ 秀水 (Jiāxīng, Zhèjiāng), was one of the towering figures of early-Qīng letters: a Míng loyalist who eventually accepted the boxue hongci 博學鴻詞 examination of 1679, served on the Míngshǐ compilation, founder of the Zhèxī 浙西 school, indefatigable bibliophile (his Pùshū tíng 曝書亭 was a famous private library), and author of the monumental classical bibliography Jīngyì kǎo 經義考 KR2n0011 in 300 juàn. His other major works include Pùshū tíng jí 曝書亭集, Rìxià jiùwén 日下舊聞 (a topography of the Beijing region) and Cí zōng 詞綜. He was father of Zhū Kūntián 朱昆田, co-compiler of NánBěi shǐ shíxiǎo lù 南北史識小錄 KR2h0003. CBDB dates from standard biographies; Qīngshǐ gǎo 清史稿 j.484.
