Fǎlín 法林
Yuán Yángqí-branch Línjì Chán master, hào Zhúquán 竹泉, zì Liǎohuàn 了幻. Native of Nínghǎi 寧海 (Táizhōu), lay surname Huáng 黃; 1284 – 24 March 1355 (lunar 至正 15.2.2). Ordained together with Fǎān Tàixū 法安太虛; attained awakening on reading the yǔlù of Mùzhōu Chénzūnsù 睦州道明 (“Mùzhōu yǔ” 睦州語), then went to Hángzhōu Zhōngtiānzhú to study under 行端 Yuánsǒu Xíngduān and was recognised as a dharma-heir.
Under Xíngduān served as zhǎngzàngyào 掌藏鑰. Subsequent abbacies by appointment of the Jiāngzhè xíngshěng zuǒ chéngxiàng 江浙行省左丞相: Wànshòu, then Zhōngtiānzhú, and from Zhìzhèng 2 (或戊寅 1338 per DILA) Língyǐn Jǐngdé 靈隱景德禪寺. Headed the editorial line of his master’s yǔlù (KR6q0352); after his own death his ashes were enshrined west of the stupa of Sōngyuán Chóngyuè 松源崇嶽 on Jìngshān. Aged 72 at death, 僧臘 given in DILA-quoted sources.
