Tán Zhēnmò 譚貞默, Liángshēng 梁生, hào Sǎoān 掃菴. Late-Míng / early-Qīng Jiāxīng (Zuìlǐ 檇李) lay-Chán scholar-official, prominent across multiple Cáodòng and Línjì publications. Chóngzhēn 元年戊辰 = 1628 jìnshì; began as 工部虞衡司主事, rose through 大理寺副 and 太僕寺少卿 to Guózǐjiān sīyè jiān jìjiǔ 國子監司業兼祭酒. After the MíngQīng transition was recommended for the same post under the Qīng but refused, retiring to compose privately. Younger brother: Tán Zhēnliáng 譚貞良. Son of Tán Chāngyán 譚昌言.

Buddhist patronage. Author of the tǎmíng 塔銘 for Yuānhú Miàoyòng 妙用 (1587–1642) at KR6q0416, dated 1654-12-25. Preface-author of KR6q0482 《天界覺浪盛禪師嘉禾語錄》 — the Jiā-xīng-area selection of Juélàng Dàoshèng 道盛’s sermons. Lead signer of the qǐngqǐ (invitation petition) at the head of KR6q0532 《三塔主峰禪師語錄》 (signed jointly with Cáo Róng 曹溶, Zhāng Jìnzhēng 張晉徵, and other Jiāxīngfǔ gentry). One of the senior Jiāngnán Buddhist lay-patron-scholars of his generation, alongside 嚴大參 Yán Diàoyù.
