Guāngmù 光睦

Southern-Sòng Yángqí-branch Línjì Chán master, variously styled Ruìyán 瑞巖, Shàoshì 少室, and Xiāngshān 香山 Guāngmù. Dharma-heir of 崇岳 Sōngyuán Chóngyuè (1132–1202) per DILA A021432; one of the two heirs (with 善開 Yúnjū Shànkāi) to whom Sōngyuán addressed a deathbed letter of dharma-entrustment, as recorded in Sōngyuán’s tǎmíng by Lù Yóu. Four years after Sōngyuán’s pagoda was erected, Guāngmù — by then abbot at Xiāngshān Zhìdùchányuàn 香山智度禪院 in Míngzhōu — sent his attendant Dàofū 道敷 to the ageing Lù Yóu (then living by Jìnghú 鏡湖) to request the inscription that now closes the second juan of Sōngyuán’s yǔlù. Named among the 參學 recorders of that yǔlù (KR6q0311). He subsequently held the abbacy at Ruìyánsì 瑞巖寺 in Táizhōu. Lifedates unrecorded.
