Shànkāi 善開
Southern-Sòng Yángqí-branch Línjì Chán master, styled Yǎn’ān 掩庵 (also 掩室) Shànkāi. Native of Chéngdū fǔ 成都府 per DILA A001343. Dharma-heir of 崇岳 Sōngyuán Chóngyuè (1132–1202), from whom he received a deathbed letter entrusting the teaching (together with 光睦 Xiāngshān Guāngmù), as recorded in Sōngyuán’s tǎmíng by Lù Yóu. He is named as a co-recorder of Sōngyuán’s yǔlù (KR6q0311) under the 參學 byline. He subsequently occupied abbacies at Yúnjū 雲居 (hence the style 雲居善開) and ended at Jīnshān 金山 (Jīnshān Shànkāi 金山善開).
