Déhóng 德洪 (= 惠洪 Huìhóng = 慧洪 Huìhóng)
Re-ordination name of Huìhóng 惠洪 / Huìhóng 慧洪 (1071–1128), the great Northern-Sòng Chán monk, literatus, and originator of the wénzì chán 文字禪 (“literary Chán”) tradition. Zì Juéfàn 覺範; self-styled Jìyīn zūnzhě 寂音尊者; imperial title Bǎojué Yuánmíng 寶覺圓明.
The name Déhóng was conferred in 1107 (Dàguān 1) by the tàiwèi Zhāng Shāngyīng 張商英 as a re-ordination of the original Huìhóng / Huìhóng after the first of Huìhóng’s several imprisonments on charges of heretical preaching and irregular ordination. Some of Huìhóng’s subsequent writings circulate under the name Déhóng, including his major literary collection Shímén wénzì chán 石門文字禪 KR6q0193.
For full biographical details, see 慧洪 (the more-complete note) or 惠洪 (the alternate-graphic note). The three person-notes — 德洪, 惠洪, 慧洪 — all refer to the same person, reflecting the Chinese tradition of graphic variation and the documentary trace of his 1107 re-ordination.
