Shídé 拾得

Táng-era Chán eccentric and poet, traditional companion of Hánshān 寒山 and Fēnggān 豐干 at Mount Tiāntái 天臺. The three are paired in Chinese Buddhist iconography and literary tradition as the “Three Sages of Tiāntái” (Tiāntái sān shèng 天台三聖). His verses survive embedded in the Hánshānzǐ shī jí 寒山子詩集 and parallel collections. Lifedates uncertain.
