Hú Wénhuàn 胡文煥 (lifedates unrecorded; active late-Míng Wànlì period, c. 1573–1620), Défù 德甫 (or Déwén 德文), hào Quán’ān 全庵 and Bàoqín jūshì 抱琴居士 (“Harp-Embracing Lay-Practitioner”); Buddhist name Juéyīn 覺因 (“Awakening-Cause”). Late-Ming lay-literatus and major book publisher. Native of Qiántáng 錢塘 (Hángzhōu).

Hú’s principal contribution was as a publisher rather than as an original author. His Géjí cóngshū 格致叢書 assembled several hundred rare titles — many previously unpublished or poorly-circulated — in a single collection, a major contribution to Ming-period book culture. Also authored operatic-literary works (Qí huò jì 奇貨記, Xī pèi jì 犀佩記, Sān Jìn jì 三晉記, Yú qìng jì 餘慶記), compiled the massive song-aria anthology Qún yīn lèi xuǎn 群音類選 (26 juan; the largest Ming song anthology), and produced numerous reference works in musicology (Wénhuì táng qín pǔ 文會堂琴譜), literary criticism (Shīxué huìxuǎn 詩學匯選), and material culture (Gǔ qì jù míng 古器具名).

Worked also on Buddhist texts as part of his broader publishing programme. His Shí niú tú sòng 十牛圖頌 (KR6q0160, X64 n1270) — a late-Ming re-engraving of the ox-herding pictorial-allegorical cycle with supplementary Kǔlè yīnyuán tú — reflects the late-Ming sānjiāo héyī 三教合一 (“unity of the three teachings”) integrative movement, in which classical Chán material was adapted for lay-Confucian-Daoist audiences.

Works in the Kanripo corpus: KR6q0160 Shí niú tú sòng only.
