Yè Tiānshì 葉天士 (real name 葉桂 Yè Guì, Tiānshì 天士, hào Xiāngyán 香巖 / Shàngjīn lǎorén 上津老人, 1666–1745), pre-eminent early-Qīng physician of Sūzhōu and the founding figure of the Wēnbìng 溫病 (warm-disease) school. Originator of the wèi qì yíng xuè 衛氣營血 four-stage syndrome-differentiation framework systematised in Wēnrè lùn 溫熱論 (transmitted from his oral teaching by 顧景文 Gù Jǐngwén). The disciple-compiled Línzhèng zhǐnán yī’àn 臨證指南醫案 is the foundational case-record of the school; Yè’s yīàn are cited extensively as authoritative throughout the Qīng záběng and dysentery literature (cf. KR3eh053).
