Shùn 順 (the catalog form; full reference Lǎngkōng Shùn 朗空順), Lǎngkōng 朗空 (“Bright Emptiness”); often referred to as Pánshān Lǎngkōng 盤山朗空. LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Liǎozōng Chāojiàn 了宗超見 (1614–1688) of Pánshān 盤山 — thus a co-disciple of Huīzhōu Hào (cf. KR6q0573). Lifedates unknown. Native of Yǒngpíngfǔ Chānglíxiàn 永平府昌黎縣 (Héběi); lay surname Zhào 趙.

Formation. Vegetarian from childhood. Drawn to the dharma; introduced by lay-Buddhist Zhāng Mínghuī 張明輝 to Pánshān Gǔzhōngpán Zhèngfǎsì 盤山古中盤正法寺 to take refuge under Liǎozōng 了宗和尚, receiving three refuges and five precepts plus a huàtóu (meditation phrase). One day during zhèngzuò “got it” suddenly. After both parents’ deaths formally took tonsure under Liǎozōng; took full ordination at Wànshànsì 萬善寺 (the same monastery his co-disciple later abbacied). Served Liǎozōng over a decade; received final fùzhǔ on his teacher’s deathbed (1688).

Abbacies. Lóngquánsì 龍泉寺; Yǒngshèngān 永盛菴 (= the Lèyì Yǒngshèngān 樂邑永盛菴 named in juan 1).

Disciples. Shíxìng 實性 (recorder; nun); Shíxiáng 實祥 (jointly engraved the yǔlù).
