About the work
The Guòqù zhuāngyán jié qiān fómíng jīng (T446b) is the second recension of the Past Ornate Aeon thousand-Buddha-names text. It differs from recension a (KR6i0022, T446a) in textual organization and may represent a different manuscript tradition or a supplementary list. The source text (T446b) carries a variant title: 過去莊嚴劫千佛名經(一名「集諸佛大功德山」), giving the alternative title “Collection of the Great Merit-Mountain of All Buddhas” (集諸佛大功德山). The “orig” edition note (in place of a named printed edition) suggests this recension was preserved in an earlier manuscript tradition not fully represented in the major printed canons. As with recension a, no translator is identified.

Abstract
T446b represents a parallel textual transmission of the thousand-Buddha-names for the past aeon, distinguished from T446a (KR6i0022) by its alternative title (集諸佛大功德山) and differing textual arrangement. The “a” and “b” recensions together constitute the full Taishō witness to this particular thousand-Buddha-names list. Both are anonymous, undatable with precision, and are best understood as products of the Chinese liturgical elaboration of the “three aeons, three thousand Buddhas” (sān jié sānqiān fó 三劫三千佛) devotional system.
