About the work
The second recension (T448b) of the future-aeon thousand-Buddha-names text, preserved only in the CBETA edition. The source text carries the alternative title 未來星宿劫千佛名經(一名集諸佛大功德山) and the colophon note 開元拾遺附梁錄 (“appended to the Liáng records in the Kāiyuán supplement”), placing it bibliographically within the Kāiyuán shìjiào lù 開元釋教錄’s supplementary appendix. Together with T448a (KR6i0026), T446a/b (KR6i0022–KR6i0023), and T447a/b (KR6i0024–KR6i0025), this text completes the “Three Aeons, Three Thousand Buddhas” system used in Chinese Buddhist liturgical confession.
Prefaces
The colophon note 開元拾遺附梁錄 suggests the Kāiyuán shìjiào lù (730 CE) assigned this as a supplement to the Liáng-period records, reflecting uncertain earlier transmission.
Abstract
T448b is the less-attested recension of the future-aeon list; its preservation only in CBETA (without major canon edition witnesses) parallels T447b and T446b, suggesting a coherent “b” transmission stream separate from the major printed-canon “a” recensions. See KR6i0022–KR6i0026 for context.
