Shísòng bǐqiū pōluótímùchā jièběn 十誦比丘波羅提木叉戒本
The Sarvāstivāda Bhikṣu-Prātimokṣa (波羅提木叉 transliterates prātimokṣa) by 鳩摩羅什 (Kumārajīva, 譯)
About the work
A one-fascicle extract of the Sarvāstivāda bhikṣu-prātimokṣa (263 rules in this recension) drawn from the parent Shísòng lǜ (KR6k0016). Translated by Kumārajīva (鳩摩羅什) at Cháng’ān 404–409 CE. The transliterated form pō-luó-tí-mù-chā (波羅提木叉) is preserved in the title — an unusual feature in Chinese Vinaya nomenclature where translation by jiè 戒 is normally preferred.

Abstract
The Sarvāstivāda prātimokṣa in this recension preserves 263 bhikṣu rules — slightly more than the Dharmaguptaka and Theravāda lines (250–227). The Sanskrit Sarvāstivāda prātimokṣa survives in fragments from Central Asia (Finot 1913, Banerjee 1977). Comparative philological work shows the Chinese translation to render the Sanskrit faithfully. The text was the principal recitation-text of Shísòng practitioners until the Tang canonisation of the Dharmaguptaka Sìfēn jièběn.
