Abstract
Yǔn Kān’s Fāhuī jì “records drawing out the meaning” is a Sòng-period sub-commentary on the existing Tang commentary tradition, aimed at clarifying obscure points in the original Dàoxuān exposition. As a major Sòng Vinaya scholar, Yǔn Kān is responsible for transmitting the Tang Nánshān tradition to the later Sòng and post-Sòng saṅgha.
