Yǔn Kān 允堪 (1005–1061) was a Northern Sòng Vinaya master of the Nánshān 南山 lineage at Hángzhōu’s Línghuásì 靈花寺. He is one of the most important Sòng-period commentators on Dàoxuān’s foundational Vinaya works, producing extensive sub-commentaries that supplied the practical-pedagogical resource for the post-Tang study of the Sìfēn lǜ tradition. His extant works in this division include the Sìfēn lǜ hánzhù jièběn shū fāhuī jì 四分律含注戒本疏發揮記 (KR6k0144), the Sìfēn bǐqiūnī chāokē 四分比丘尼鈔科 (KR6k0154), the Sìfēn lǜ suíjī jiémó shū zhèngyuán jì 四分律隨機羯磨疏正源記 (KR6k0156), and the Sìfēn lǜ shípínì yìchāo fǔyào jì 四分律拾毗尼義鈔輔要記 (KR6k0177). Together with Yuánzhào (元照) — his junior — Yǔn Kān established the Sòng-period reception of the Tang Nánshān tradition.
