Abstract
Authorship. Per the 性珽 note: native of Fúqīng 福清 (Fúzhōu, Fújiàn), lay surname Chén 陳. Tonsured at 19 (1616) at Chánglè Chángxī Fúgōng. Multi-teacher Chán pilgrimage circuit: Huángbò Zhōng (3 years), Gǔshān Wúyì (no transmission), Huángbò Mìyún Yuánwù (full precepts), Jīnsù Yuánwù (no transmission). Final transmission from Pòshān Hǎimíng in c. 1640.
Dating. notBefore = c. 1640 (post-transmission preaching). notAfter = 1651 (death). Six abbacies: Lóngpán → Niānhuá → Bǎolín → Léngjiā → Huángbò (twice) → Yǒuyáng Huáyánsì 酉陽華嚴寺 (death-seat at Sìchuān 酉陽 prefecture).
Significance. Among the Pòshān heirs, Xìngtǐng is distinctive for his Fújiàn provincial provenance (most Pòshān heirs were Sì-chuān-bred), for his successive Jiāngnán → Sìchuān trajectory (ending at the Yǒuyáng border with Rǎn Yùcén patron — the same lay-patron family later documented in KR6q0467’s 1671 kāitáng roster), and for training the young Liányuè Dàozhèng before Liányuè crossed to Pòshān himself (cf. KR6q0445 juan 5 xíngshí).
Heirs. Shígǔ Huì 石谷慧, Yúnfù Zhì 道智 雲腹智 (cf. KR6q0480), Yúshān Ruì 余山瑞.
Re-cut status. Catalog meta gives the editor function as chóngkān 重刊 — meaning Yìwén prepared a re-cut of an earlier recension. The Jiāxīng Canon J34 B308 imprint is the chóngkān version.

Other points of interest
- Fú-jiàn-bred Pòshān heir. Xìngtǐng is a rare non-Sì-chuān Pòshān-line heir, reflecting the cross-regional reach of Pòshān’s Sichuan-Jiāngnán-Fújiàn pilgrimage circuit.
- Yǒuyáng patronage continuity. The Rǎn Yùcén (酉陽 司主, xuānwèisī) lay-patron family appears continuously across two generations of Pòshān-line texts: Xìngtǐng’s final abbacy patron in 1650, and the Bùlín → Lùnán Dōushuài patron in 1671 (cf. KR6q0467).
