Tōngtiān Yìsǒu Gāo chánshī yǔlù 通天逸叟高禪師語錄
Recorded Sayings of Chán Master Yì-sǒu Gāo of Tōng-tiān [-sì] by 行高 (說), 明德 (重梓), 超原 (行略)
Single-juan yǔlù of Tōngtiān Yìsǒu Xínggāo 行高 通天逸叟行高 (1616 – 1669-04-12, age 54, sēnglà 40), LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Wànrú Tōngwēi 萬如通微 (1594–1657). Native of Xīnghuà Xiānyóu 興化仙遊 (Fújiàn), lay surname Chén 陳. Zhòngzǐ (re-engraving) by his dharma-grandson Míngdé 明德; 行略 (life-narrative) authored by his sole fǎsì Dànyá Chāoyuán 超原 (1630–1698). Documents teaching at his sole abbacy Púyáng Tōngtiān chánsì 蒲陽通天禪寺 (Fújiàn). The xínglüè records the formal fùfǎ transmission to Chāoyuán on 康熙己酉年正月元日 = 1669-02-01, just two months before Yìsǒu’s death. notBefore ≈ 1660 (post-Wàn-rú-death abbacy); notAfter ≈ 1700 (the zhòngzǐ postdates Chāoyuán’s 1698 death). Other points of interest
KR6q0569 and the immediately following KR6q0570 form a teacher-disciple sequence — both compiled / re-engraved by the same fǎsūn Míngdé 明德 in the late-1690s / early-1700s — capturing two generations of the Púyáng Tōngtiān chánsì abbacy (Yìsǒu d. 1669; Chāoyuán d. 1698) within the Wànrú branch of LínjìYángqí. The compactness of Yìsǒu’s single juan reflects his short post-Wàn-rú-death career (only ~12 years).
