Dìng Bīn 定賓 (fl. mid-Tang) was a Tang-dynasty Vinaya specialist of the Xiāngbù 相部 school of Sìfēn Vinaya — one of the three competing exegetical traditions of Tang Sìfēn lǜ exegesis (alongside Dàoxuān’s Nánshān 南山 and Huáisù’s Dōngtǎ 東塔). The Xiāngbù school descended from Fǎlì 法礪 (569–635). Dìng Bīn’s extant works include the Sìfēn bǐqiū jièběn shū 四分比丘戒本疏 (KR6k0132, T40n1807) and the Sìfēn lǜ shū shìzōng yìjì 四分律疏飾宗義記 (KR6k0163). The Xiāngbù school under Fǎlì and Dìng Bīn was an important rival to Dàoxuān’s Nánshān during the early-Tang Vinaya disputes, but was eventually eclipsed by the Nánshān tradition.
