Maṇicintana / Bǎo-sīwéi 寶思惟 (d. 721) — Tang-period Indian translator-monk, native of Kashmir (迦濕彌羅國 Jiā-shī-mí-luó-guó). Court titles included Tripiṭaka-master. He arrived at Cháng-ān during the Wǔ-Zhōu / Kāiyuán transition and was active as a translator at the imperial Cháng-ān monasteries until his death in 721 CE.
He is best known for his translations of kriyā-tantra-class dhāraṇī scriptures, including:
- Dà tuóluóní mòfǎ zhōng yīzì xīnzhòu jīng 大陀羅尼末法中一字心呪經 (KR6j0133, T19n0956) — Sūtra of the One-Syllable Heart-Mantra of the Final-Dharma Period.
- Suí-qiú jí-dé zì-zài tuóluóní 隨求即得自在陀羅尼 (T1153) — Mahāpratisarā-vidyā-rājñī, foundational dhāraṇī of the Mahāpratisarā cult.
- Bùkōng juànsuǒ tuóluóní jīng 不空羂索陀羅尼經 (T1095) — Esoteric dhāraṇī of Amoghapāśa.
His Esoteric work bridges the early dhāraṇī-collection literature of Atikūṭa (KR6j0072) and the more systematic Esoteric translation programmes of the Three Great Tang Masters. His death year is documented as Kāiyuán 9 = 721 CE.
