Xíngtāo 行韜, zì Dàyǔ 大庾 (also bare-character form 庾, his original lay-name). LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Tuìwēng Hóngchǔ 弘儲 in the Hànyuè Sānfēng sub-line. Died 順治九壬辰 7/25 = 1652-08-28 Gregorian. Native of Wújiāng 吳江 (Sūzhōu prefecture); lay surname Zhào 趙. As a youth (yòu nián 幼年) studied under his 伯父 paternal uncle 法藏 Hànyuè Fǎzàng — a notable case of family-line transmission within the Sānfēng line.
Formation. Studied under uncle Hànyuè Fǎzàng in childhood. 順治三 = 1646: retreated to Wǔyíshān 武夷山. Subsequently received full precepts under Fúshí Tōngxián 浮石通賢 at Wújiāng Bàoēnsì 吳江報恩寺 with yìnkě. Final formal succession under Língyán Hóngchǔ at Língyánsì, accompanying the master’s tours to Tiānníngsì 天寧寺 and Ruìyánsì 瑞巖寺.
Abbacy. 順治七 = 1650: by Hóngchǔ’s instruction installed at Tiāntái Guóqīngsì 天台國清寺 — the same Tiāntái-flagship seat just vacated by his dharma-brother Xièyún Jìjī 濟璣 (d. 1648, KR6q0476). Two consecutive Sān-fēng-line Línjì abbots at Guóqīng (1640s–1652) constitutes a notable Sānfēng claim on the Tiāntái flagship monastery.
