About the work
Single-juan yǔlù of Xièyún Jìjī 濟璣 燮雲濟璣 (d. 1648), LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Tuìwēng Hóngchǔ 弘儲 in the Hànyuè Sānfēng sub-line. Recorded by fǎsì Xuángǎo 玄杲 lù at the Wúwèitáng 無畏堂 of Tiāntái Guóqīngsì 天台國清寺 — the historic Tiāntái-school flagship monastery, an unusual seat for a Línjì abbot. Front-preface by Zhāng Yǒuyù 張有譽 Dàyuán jūshì 大圓居士 (1589–1669, the same Wúxī lay-Chán official documented as preface-writer for KR6q0204 under Hóngchǔ’s teaching). Printed as Jiāxīng Canon J34 B303.
Abstract
Authorship. Per DILA A015946 and 《五燈全書》 j. 84: native of Tōngzhōu 通州. Initial three-year training under Sānfēng Fǎzàng 法藏; after Fǎzàng’s 1635 death continued under heir Língyán Hóngchǔ 弘儲 at Xiángfúsì 祥符寺. Decisive chèzhèng 徹證 on the Mìaoxǐ qǐngyì Fóguǒ yǒujù wújù 妙喜請益佛果有句無句 gōngàn. Abbot at Tiāntái Guóqīngsì where he died (1648) and was interred in stūpa.
Dating. notBefore = c. 1640 (post-transmission abbacy at Guóqīng). notAfter = 1648 (death). Single-juan yǔlù reflects the relatively brief Guóqīng abbacy.
Línjì at Guóqīng. Jìjī’s installation as Línjì-line abbot of the Tiāntái Guóqīngsì is institutionally significant — the historic seat of Zhìyǐ 智顗 and Tiāntái-school doctrinal authority, but here held by a LínjìYángqí Sān-fēng-line monastic. The 無畏堂 Wúwèitáng hall-name suggests a specific preaching-hall within the larger Guóqīng compound.
Lineage. Mìyún Yuánwù → Hànyuè Fǎzàng → Tuìwēng Hóngchǔ → Xièyún Jìjī. The Sānfēng sub-line was suppressed by Yōngzhèng’s 1733 proscription, but this 1648 yǔlù survived in the Jiāxīng Canon imprint.

- Línjì abbacy of Tiāntái flagship. Jìjī’s seat at Guóqīngsì represents an instance of cross-tradition institutional capture — a LínjìYángqí Sān-fēng-line abbot at the Suí-era foundation of Chinese Tiāntái-school doctrinal practice. Such cross-tradition abbacies were common in the late-Míng / early-Qīng but particularly pointed at the Tiāntái flagship.
