Dharma-disciple of Sānmèi Jìguāng 三昧寂光 (1580–1645), the founding figure of the Bǎohuáshān 寶華山 Vinaya revival in early-Qīng China. After his teacher’s death in 1645, Dútǐ succeeded to the Bǎohuáshān seat and presided over the institution for some thirty-four years (1645–1679), making it the principal Vinaya-school institution of early-Qīng China and the institutional centre from which the Vinaya tradition was systematically restored after late-Míng decline.

Major works: substantial Vinaya corpus including the Pí-ní rì-yòng qiè-yào 毘尼日用切要 (T1115), the Sān-tán fà-jiè zhèng-fàn 三壇傳戒正範 (the foundational early-Qīng ordination manual), and the Bǎo-huá-shān zhì 寶華山志 (the institutional gazetteer of his own monastery). For the present catalog, Dú-tǐ provided the chóng-zuǎn 重纂 (“re-compiled”) editorial work on Sì-míng Zhīlǐ’s Qiān-shǒu qiān-yǎn dà-bēi-xīn-zhòu xíng-fǎ (KR6d0202, X74n1480), preserving Zhīlǐ’s foundational Avalokiteśvara liturgical material in early-Qīng recension.
