Yìnwén 印文, zì Língyǐn 靈隱 (“Numinous Hermit”); often referred to as Língyǐn Yìnwén 靈隱印文. LínjìYángqí dharma-heir of Pòshān Hǎimíng 海明 (1597–1666). Lifedates unknown — active in Yúnnán in 1661 when his disciple Méixī Fúdù 福度 (1637–1701) received transmission from him at age 25. Native of Kuízhōu Gāoliáng 夔州高梁 (= 梁山, Sìchuān); lay surname Wáng 王.
Formation. Took tonsure at Mùlánsì 木蘭寺 under Dàqiān 大千和尚. Resolutely undertook cānfǎng; first under Huángbò 黃檗 for years of austere practice. Reading the Chánzōng zhèngmài 禪宗正脉 at the xiàngchē bùxíng dǎniú jí shì 向車不行打牛即是 gōngàn, suddenly broke through “and his body and mind became light and easy.” At Zhōnglùsī 中路司 met Wànfēng Míng 萬峰明 — received final fùfǎ.
Abbacies (across Yúnnán / Guìzhōu). Ānshùn Jìnglè 安順靜樂, Yúnnán Yúnjí 雲南雲集, Dòubǎo Guānyīn 竇堡觀音 (where in 辛丑冬 = 1661 winter, on the fó chéngdào rì, his disciple Fúdù received fùfǎ), Hóngjiāng Huílóng 洪江迴龍, Qiánnán Zǐzhú 黔南紫竹.
Disciples (fourteen). Cāngbì Míngruì 蒼璧明睿, Dàtóng Hérén 大同合仁, Mìyìn Zhēnchuán 密印真傳, Tiānrú Qīngjué 天如清覺, Méixī Fúdù 福度 (1637–1701, of YúnnánGuìzhōu), and others.
