Zhāng Lěi 張耒 (1054–1114, Wénqián 文潜, hào Kēshān 柯山, late-life nickname Féixiān 肥仙), of Chǔzhōu Huáiyīn 楚州淮陰 (Jiāngsū). One of the Sūmén sìxuéshì 蘇門四學士 (the four Sū-Shì-circle disciples — with Huáng Tíngjiān 黃庭堅 黃庭堅, Qín Guān 秦觀 秦觀, and Cháo Bǔzhī 晁補之). Jìnshì of Xīníng 6 / 1073 (age 20). Held office through Mìshūshěng zhèngzì, Zhùzuò zuǒláng, Mìshūchéng, Zhùzuòláng, Shǐguǎn jiǎntǎoeight years in the three-bureaus (sānguǎn) according to Sòngshǐ Wényuàn zhuàn. Risen through the Yuányòu coalition. In Shàoshèng placed on the proscription list and demoted to Rùnzhōu directly-fastened-prefect, then Xuānzhōu, Huángzhōu jiān jiǔshuì, Fùzhōu. Under Huīzōng recalled to Tòngpàn Huángzhōu, Yǎnzhōu prefect, Tàicháng shǎoqīng; on hearing of Sū Shì’s death (Jiànzhōng Jìngguó 1 / 1101) at Yǐngzhōu he conducted memorial rites — for which he was again proscribed in Chóngníng 1 / 1102 and demoted to Fángzhōu biéjià, Huángzhōu ānzhì, then Chénzhōu. Zhāng Lěi outlived all the other Sūmén disciples — Sū Shì, Sū Zhé, Huáng Tíngjiān, Qín Guān, Cháo Bǔzhī all preceded him — making him the last surviving senior Sūxué figure (Sòngshǐ: èrSū jí Huáng Tíngjiān, Cháo Bǔzhī xiāngjì méi, Lěi dú cún). Died age 61. Jiànyán posthumous restoration as Jíyīngdiàn xiūzhuàn. Sòngshǐ 444. Two principal collections: the Kēshān jí 柯山集 KR4d0089 in 50 juǎn (the Yuán-period recension) and the Zhāng yòushǐ wénjí 張右史文集 KR4d0090 in 60 juǎn (the SBCK reprint of the alternate Sòng Jiāngzhè cáotái recension). The original Tánjùn xiānshēng wénjí 譙郡先生文集 in 100 juǎn (per Zhōu Zǐzhī 周紫芝’s Tàicāng tímǐ jí) is lost.
