Lǐ Gāng 李綱 (1083–1140), zì Bójì 伯紀, hào Liángxī xiānshēng 梁谿先生, of Wúxī 無錫 (Chángzhōu, Jiāngsū). Jìnshì of Zhènghé 2 / 1112. The cardinal early-Southern-Sòng resistance figure: as Tàicháng shǎoqīng in the Jìngkāng siege of 1126, organised the defense of Kāifēng against the first Jin assault. Under Gāozōng’s brief embrace of the resistance position, Jiànyán 1 / 1127 made Shàngshū yòu púshè (Right Vice-Chancellor of the Imperial Secretariat) — chief minister — for 75 days; dismissed when the héyì (peace-faction) under Huáng Qiánshàn took control. Author of Jìngkāng chuánxìn lù 靖康傳信錄 (3 juǎn) and Jiànyán shízhèng jì 建炎時政記 (3 juǎn) — two of the most-important early-Southern-Sòng historiographical works, embedded in the Liángxī jí. Posthumously canonised Zhōngdìng 忠定 (Loyal-and-Resolute). Author of Liángxī jí 梁谿集 KR4d0138 in 180 juǎn + appended materials 6 juǎn — one of the largest Sòng biéjí. Biography: Sòng shǐ j. 358–359.
