Hóng Yán 洪炎 (1067–1133), Yùfù 玉父, of Nánchāng 南昌 (Jiāngxī). Third of the Sì Hóng 四洪 brothers (Hóng Péng 洪朋, Hóng Chú 洪芻, Hóng Yán, Hóng Yǔ); all four were Huáng Tíngjiān 黃庭堅 黃庭堅’s nephews. Jìnshì of late-Yuányòu. After the southern crossing held office as Mìshū shǎojiān (Vice-Director of the Imperial Library). Of the Sì Hóng, Hóng Yán’s collection alone survived through to the Qīng in a complete form: the Xīdù jí 西渡集 KR4d0141 in 2 juǎn, preserved in the Bào family’s Zhībùzúzhāi in Zhèjiāng. The other three brothers’ collections (Hóng Péng’s Hóng Guīfù jí KR4d0131, Hóng Chú’s Lǎopǔ jí KR4d0142, Hóng Yǔ’s collection — lost) are Sìkù reconstructions from the Yǒnglè dàdiǎn.
