Native of Dòngtíng Xīshān 洞庭西山 (Lake Tài, Sūzhōu region). Born 1565; died Tiānqǐ 天啟 4, 9th month, 18th day (= 29 October 1624), aged 60.

Major work: the Fǎhuá jīng dàkuǎn 法華經大窾 (KR6d0080, X31n0614, 7 juan) — a Lotus Sūtra commentary in the jiān 箋 (“annotated”) tradition. The work belongs to the late-Míng critical-evaluative tradition of Lotus Sūtra commentary, alongside Jiāo Hóng’s Jīngjiě pínglín (KR6d0078) and Hānshān Déqīng’s productions (KR6d0076, KR6d0077).
