Recorded Sayings of Chán Master Mì-xíng Rěn by 寂忍 (說), 明廣 (等編), 明珍 (等編)
Three-juan yǔlù of Mìxíng Jìrěn 寂忍 密行寂忍 (DILA gives world-age 58 but no firm birth/death years), LínjìYángqí 32nd-generation dharma-heir of Pòshān Hǎimíng 海明 (1597–1666). KR6q0523). Compiled by his fǎsūn (dharma-grandsons) Míngguǎng 明廣 and Míngzhēn 明珍 děng biān.
Five abbacies are documented: Xùzhōu Xǐyù 敘州喜獄, Luòyuán Xīngguó 雒源興國 (entered 順治丁酉 = 1657, served as a bìguān 掩關 / sealed-room retreat), Bǎoqìng Dàbēi 寶慶大悲 (Húnán), Héngyáng Kāifēng Nányún 衡陽開峰南雲禪院 (Húguǎng), and a fifth implied. The principal preface is by Zhúlàng Chèshēng 徹生 of Qīngchéngshān (cf. KR6q0544) signed at Jiāxīngfǔ in 康熙甲戌蒲月 = 1694 (Kāngxī 33, lunar 5) — composed during Chèshēng’s eastern engraving expedition for the Jǐnjiāng chándēng 錦江禪燈. notBefore = 1657 (Luòyuán Zhōngxīng entry); notAfter = 1694 (preface). Other points of interest
The cross-regional preface authorship — Sìchuān Chèshēng for a Yúnnán master’s yǔlù, written at Jiāxīng during a publishing expedition — is itself important documentation of how the Pòshān Hǎimíng network in the 1690s coordinated southwestern (YúnnánSìchuānGuìzhōu) Buddhist publishing through the eastern Jiāxīng Léngyánsì 流通 channel. The yǔlù’s 行實 in juan 3 is also a primary source for the early-Qīng Yúnnán LínjìYángqí monastic landscape (Zhúzǐshān, Yúntáishān), supplementing the KR6q0523 〈行錄〉 of his disciple 學蘊.
