Chāoyuán 超源 (Chāoyuán Huìfù 超源慧復)
Mid-late seventeenth-century Línjì Chán monk, shìzhě 侍者 to Xiàotáng Míngzhé 笑堂明哲 at Yúháng Wòlóngshān Guǎnghuà Chánsì and head recorder (děng jìlù 等記錄) of KR6q0425 《笑堂和尚語錄》 (Jiāxīng Canon J28 B206). Full form Chāoyuán Huìfù 超源慧復.
The 超-generation character places him in the same Mìyún-line 超-generation cohort as Chāojùn 超晙 (超晙) who co-edited the same yǔlù — both are dharma-sons of Xiàotáng Míngzhé, and thus dharma-grandsons of Línyě Tōngqí. Native place, lay surname, and lifedates unrecovered.

A separate Línjì monk also named Chāoyuán 超源 (variant 超原), zì Dànyá 澹崖 (“Bland Cliff”). Native of Mǐnpǔ 閩莆 (= 福建莆田) — i.e. of the Lóngchí 龍池 line of LínjìYángqí (rather than the Línyě / Yúné line above). Lifedates unknown. Author of the lead preface to KR6q0554 《衡山禪師語錄》, signed “龍池後裔閩莆超原澹崖氏拜撰” dated 康熙乙亥王春 = 1695 spring. Distinct from the Xiào-táng-line Chāoyuán Huìfù recorder of KR6q0425 above.
Other contemporary monks bearing the name Chāoyuán 超源 are registered in DILA: Liánfēng Chāoyuán 蓮峰超源 (A018937, 1691–1745, registered in 五燈全書) — too young to have written the 1695 preface; Chāoyuán of 笑堂 (A037276), attendant — likely identical with the Lín-yě-line Chāoyuán Huìfù in the first entry above; Ruìwēng Chāoyuán 瑞翁超源 (A039742).
