Fǎjù 法炬 (also written 法巨, 帛法巨, 帛法炬; DILA Authority A000707) was a Western Jìn 西晉 monk and translator. The 帛 (“Bó”) variant of his name suggests Yuezhi or Kuchean ancestry — the same conventional surname-marker borne by Bó Fǎzǔ / 帛遠. He is securely attested in 308 CE (Yǒngjiā 永嘉 2) as one of the scribes (筆受) on Dharmarakṣa’s translation of the Lalitavistara (the Pǔ-yào jīng 普曜經, T186), and as joint translator with 法立 (Fǎlì) of three substantial works in the late Western Jìn: the Fǎjù pìyù jīng 法句譬喻經 (T211), the Fútián jīng 福田經 (T683) and the [[KR6a0023|Dà lóu-tàn jīng 大樓炭經]] (T23). He is also credited individually with the Fó shuō héng-shuǐ jīng 佛說恒水經 (T33), the Fǎhǎi jīng 法海經 (T34), the Fó shuō dǐng-shēng wáng gùshì jīng 佛說頂生王故事經 (T39), the Fó shuō qiú-yù jīng 佛說求欲經 (T49), the Fó shuō kǔ-yīn yīn-shì jīng 佛說苦陰因事經 (T55), and several other short works of the Āgama and Avadāna types. His exact dates of birth and death are unrecorded.
