Major late-Ming physician-publisher of Jīnxī 金谿 in Jiāngxī (Yùzhāng 豫章); zì Zǐcái 子才, hào Yúnlín Shānrén 雲林山人 / Wùzhēnzǐ 悟真子. Member of the Gōng medical family — his father Gōng Xìn 龔信 was the principal medical writer of the previous generation. Served briefly as Tàiyī yuàn lìmù 太醫院吏目. Author of the widely circulated Wàn bìng huí chūn 萬病回春 (1587) and Shòu shì bǎo yuán 壽世保元 (1615), and of an extensive editing-and-publishing programme that reissued Sòng-Yuán-Ming medical and divinatory texts under his imprint — including KR3eb017 Dìng zhèng Tài sù mài bì jué. Generally given the conventional lifedates 1522–1619 in modern Chinese medical histories (no CBDB record). His works were among the most reprinted Chinese medical books of the late Ming and the principal vehicle for the dissemination of Ming clinical doctrine into Japan and Korea.
